I've wanted a Jeep for quite sometime, but I've just never bought one. My aunt had a couple when I was a kid and I remember riding in the backseat with the top off during Michigan summers. It was awesome.

I was lucky enough to get a friendly rental counter agent that gave me an upgrade (compact rate FTW) during my stay here in Hawaii for work. Here's my quick review:

1: Power - For having the 3.6L Minivan engine, it's got decent power and MPG (Aces currently rocks an average of 22MPG, so your definition of decent may be different).

2: Seating - I actually like the front seats, and didn't get any complaints from the guys I work with who rode in the back during our quick trips together.

3: Interior - Some of the buttons are wonky. I'm not keen on the window button placement (middle of the dash above the HVAC controls). Doors seem to need to be slammed to close properly, but it's also a rental so...

4: Removable top - LOVE IT! (note, when you're going somewhere for a hurricane, make sure you actually look at where you're driving before you take the top off). I ended up getting caught in a quick rainstorm with the top off when I went to see some friends in Ewa Beach. Thankfully, the hardtop was quick to re-install and the forward panels are pretty light.

4: Overall - I really liked it. It would've been nice to have a bakup camera on it, as I had some tight areas I backed up in, but it wasn't too bad. The wife said we could look into one for our next new car, but that will be a few years away.
